## Synopsis

My Boss (2024) is a Chinese web series created by Li Jing Ling for Youku, a light romantic comedy that builds its premise around a live-in workplace romance. Zhang Ruonan plays Cheng Yao, an aspiring lawyer who lands a place at a top law firm and rents an apartment near work, only to discover her housemate is her new boss. Chen Xingxu plays Qian Heng, a harsh and suspicious senior lawyer who believes she got the job through connections and puts her through rigorous training. The engine of the story is her determination to prove her talent in demanding corporate cases, and his grudging recognition of her ability, which slowly shifts into attraction. Supporting roles include Chen Xiaoyun, Li Junxian and He Wenjun as colleagues and friends who surround the pair in the firm's daily pressure. Each episode mixes office assignments with domestic moments in the shared flat, giving the show a consistent rhythm of friction and warmth. Set in contemporary urban China, the series unfolds across a single season of thirty-six episodes. Its tone is breezy, cozy and hopeful, with a gentle comedic edge. Fans of Suits, Pride and Prejudice and Crash Landing on You will find resonance in its sparring romance and its polished, aspirational workplace world.
