## Synopsis

Sword and Beloved (2025) is a Chinese wuxia and xianxia fantasy series adapted from a manhua, produced for iQiyi and running a single season of 36 episodes. Cheng Yi plays Wangquan Fugui, a young demon slayer trained from childhood as the ultimate weapon of the Yiqi Alliance, whose fervor for world peace is shaken when he meets Qing Tong, played by Li Yitong, a spider demon who infiltrates Wangquan Manor as a spy. Their uneasy bond becomes the engine of the story: Fugui must reconsider everything he was taught about demons, while the manor's rigid sect demands loyalty and his own yearning for freedom pulls him outward. Guo Junchen as Quan Rumu and Ken Chang Tzu-yao as Wangquan Hongye add weight to the family and sect politics surrounding him. Each episode is built from sword duels, shifting alliances, and quiet moments of reckoning, with a melancholic yet hopeful register and a romantic undercurrent running through the martial spectacle. Set in a mythic martial world of sects, demons, and swordsmen, the series carries the emotional texture of a journey of self-discovery. Fans of The Legend of Chusen and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God will find resonance in its blend of fantasy battles and tender romance.
