## Synopsis

Coroner's Diary (2025) is a Chinese costume drama mystery series created by Bu Yue Qian Zhuang for iQIYI, a single-season run of 38 episodes. Shen Wan, the daughter of the minister of Dali Temple, is played by Li Landi, and she relies on her medical and forensic skill to reopen unsolved cases. She joins forces with Prince Yan Chi, played by Ao Ruipeng, in a wary partnership that moves through court intrigue. Supporting roles include Yu Chengen as Yan Li, Shen Yujie as Yue Ning and Tien Niu as the Grand Princess. Each episode tends to take up a fresh case, while a larger push to find the real culprit behind her father's downfall runs underneath the stories. The engine is Shen Wan's determination to vindicate her family against an entrenched court that would rather bury the truth. Its tone blends mystery tension with a slow-building romance and a sense of costume-drama melancholy. Fans of Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame and Serenade of Peach Blossoms will find resonance in its blend of ancient-China investigation and imperial romance.
