## Synopsis

Wild Cards (2024-present) is a Canadian crime comedy-drama series created by Michael Konyves for CBC Television, produced alongside The CW. Vanessa Morgan plays Max Mitchell, a spirited con woman, opposite Giacomo Gianniotti as Cole Ellis, a demoted detective who has always followed the rules. Both are offered a chance at redemption on the condition that they find a way to work together, using their very different skills to crack cases. The engine of the show is the uneasy partnership itself, with each episode built around a fresh crime that pulls the mismatched pair between sting operations, interrogations and clashes with the police hierarchy. Detective Simmons (Michael Xavier) and Detective Yates (Amy Goodmurphy) add pressure from inside the department, while the banter and bickering stay light. The show runs as a three-season series of episodic investigations with a continuing thread about trust and second chances. Its tone is breezy, playful and warm, closer to a lighthearted caper than a grim procedural. Fans of White Collar, Psych and Castle will find the same mix of charming partnership and gentle mystery here.
