## Synopsis

Baby Reindeer (2024) is a British limited series created by Richard Gadd for Netflix. Gadd also stars as Donny Dunn, a struggling comedian working nights as a bartender in London, whose one moment of kindness toward a lonely woman draws him into a suffocating obsession. Jessica Gunning plays Martha Scott, the woman who begins following him, and the story pivots on how their connection grows into a campaign of relentless messages and unwanted attention. The engine of the series is Donny's attempt to keep his fragile career and sense of decency intact while the fallout of his choices closes in around him. Its seven episodes of roughly half an hour each move from awkward, almost comic early scenes into a harrowing, claustrophobic darkness, with a stand-up comedy scene and a bar setting providing a contrast of performance and private shame. Based on Gadd's own real life story and his stage play, the series is an intimate, unsettling study of trauma, sexuality, and self-implication, with a raw, confessional register. Fans of Fleabag, You and I May Destroy You will find resonance in its dark humor, personal storytelling, and psychological unease.
