## Synopsis

Dying for Sex (2025) is an American dramedy miniseries created by Kim Rosenstock and Elizabeth Meriwether for Hulu, adapted from a podcast. Michelle Williams plays Molly Kochan, a woman who, after a Stage IV metastatic breast cancer diagnosis, leaves her husband and sets out to explore sexual desires she has long suppressed. Jenny Slate plays Nikki Boyer, her close friend who becomes her companion on this unconventional path, while Jay Duplass plays Steve, the husband she leaves behind. The engine of the eight-episode run is Molly's blunt pursuit of pleasure against the clock of her illness, with each episode built around new encounters, honest conversations with her friend, and the practical realities of palliative care. The tone blends frank sexual candor with dark, irreverent humor and moments of raw vulnerability, so viewers encounter mortality and intimacy in the same breath. Its frank, adult register and female-centered perspective make it a fit for those who enjoy the bold honesty of Fleabag, the candid female friendships of Girls, and the midlife reassessment found in Better Things. Set in contemporary America, it is a single-season limited series whose emotional weight rests on friendship and self-discovery rather than plot twists, and it divided audiences sharply on its provocative premise.
