## Synopsis

Love Next Door (2024) is a South Korean romantic comedy miniseries created by Yoo Je-won for tvN. Its protagonist, a woman trying to reboot her life after returning to Korea, becomes entangled with her childhood friend, with whom she shares a complicated history. Jung Hae-in plays Choi Seung-hyo and Jung So-min plays Bae Seok-ryu, and their tangled past drives the central romance. The engine of the series is the friction between the leads' old wounds and the new feelings that surface as they cross paths again in everyday Seoul life. The sixteen 80-minute episodes stay in one continuing story arc rather than a case-of-the-week format, and the show is presented as a single complete season. Family scenes, including a mother and daughter relationship and a wider circle of relatives and friends, add warmth and comic texture to the romance. The tone is light, charming and feel-good, with sweet moments and gentle humor carrying the emotional arc. Fans of Crash Landing on You, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim and Reply 1988 will find resonance in its nostalgic affection for longtime friends and its cozy romantic comedy atmosphere.
