## Synopsis

Apple Cider Vinegar (2025) is an Australian true-story crime drama miniseries created by Samantha Strauss for Netflix. Kaitlyn Dever plays wellness influencer Belle Gibson, whose claims of curing her cancer through natural remedies win her a devoted online following and a growing business. Alycia Debnam-Carey plays Milla Blake, a friend and collaborator drawn into the lie, while Aisha Dee and Mark Coles Smith appear among the people whose trust and livelihoods depend on Belle's story. The engine of the six-episode run is the slow, escalating cost of keeping a fabricated illness alive: every new post, product launch and public appearance demands another untruth, and every loyal follower becomes a potential witness. Each episode steps through the mechanics of online fame, from glossy photo shoots and crowdfunded wellness campaigns to the anxious private moments when the people closest to Belle begin to doubt. The series is a limited run in a single season, told with a restless, unsettling mix of glossy social media aesthetics and grounded dread. Its tone is sardonic yet melancholic, with a hard look at how wellness culture rewards certainty over evidence. Fans of The Dropout, Inventing Anna and Ozark will find resonance in its portrait of a charismatic fraud and the people who enable her.
