## Synopsis

Celeste (2024) is a Spanish comedy mystery series created by Diego San José and produced by 100 Balas for Movistar Plus. Carmen Machi plays Sara Santano, a tax inspector who has spent more than thirty years in Spain's inland revenue and is days from retirement when she receives the assignment of her career: prove that Latin pop star Celeste, played by Andrea Bayardo, must pay tax in Spain. The engine of the show is Sara's methodical pursuit of paperwork, offshore trails and evasive handlers, set against the glossy world of stadium concerts and a global music machine that expects to be left alone. Supporting cast including Manolo Solo, Aixa Villagrán, Jesús Noguero and Marc Soler fill out the investigation and the entourage around the singer. The series runs as a single compact season of twelve episodes of about thirty-four minutes each, a self-contained tax chase with a continuing investigative spine. Its tone is dry and deadpan, with wry humor about bureaucracy and celebrity excess sitting alongside genuine suspense about what the audit will uncover. Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Better Call Saul and Money Heist will find a similar mix of procedural persistence, comic irony and cat-and-mouse tension.
