## Synopsis

Extremely Inappropriate! (2024) is a Japanese television comedy drama created by Kankuro Kudo and Fuminori Kaneko for TBS. Sadao Abe plays Ogawa Ichiro, a feared physical education teacher from 1986 known for his harsh tongue and deliberately provocative behavior, a single father struggling to raise his rebellious daughter Ogawa Junko, played by Yuumi Kawai, after losing his wife to illness. When he is transported in time to 2024, his old-school tough love collides with modern sensibilities about speech, compliance and empathy. Riisa Naka plays Inushima Nagisa, a younger character who anchors the story's contemporary side. The engine of the show is the constant friction between Ichiro's certainties and a present that treats his behavior as harassment, with each episode built around everyday clashes at home, school and work. Its ten episodes form a single continuing story across one season. The series is set in a Showa era Tokyo and a Reiwa era Tokyo, and moves between the two with warm, sharp humor. Its tone is breezy and comic while still sincere, and it explores generation gaps, parenting, and the question of how much things have really changed. Fans of Back to the Future, Quantum Leap and Japanese family comedies will find resonance here.
