## Synopsis

Captains of the World is a British documentary docuseries made for Netflix that follows the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar through exclusive access to all 32 national teams. Filmed from the locker room to the pitch, the series lets viewers hear from players and managers as they prepare, argue, and face the pressure of a single knockout match where one mistake can end a campaign. Principal figures such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modrić and manager Didier Deschamps appear on camera speaking as themselves. Each episode builds its drama from squad rivalries, pre-match nerves, training ground routines and the weight of national expectation. The tone is intimate and tense, with a steady undercurrent of national pride running through every team's story. Rather than a scripted narrative, the show works as an insider tournament chronicle, offering the feel of a sports documentary in the vein of Drive to Survive and The Last Dance. It suits viewers who follow elite sport and fans of the World Cup looking for behind-the-scenes intimacy.
