## Synopsis

Ready, Set, Love (2024) is a Thai romance comedy series produced for Netflix, a six-episode limited series that carries a sharp social satire edge. In a society grappling with a dwindling male population, an unassuming woman becomes a contender in a government-sponsored dating competition, and the premise lets the show play matchmaking as a bureaucratic game with rules, rankings and public scrutiny. The engine is simple and concrete: the heroine, Day (Kemisara Paladesh), must keep her footing among rival contenders while her romantic interests, including Son (Pongtiwat Tangwancharoen) and Almond (Trisanu Soranun), and friends such as Chanel (Ladapa Thongkham) and Max (Phuriphat Jiramethapon) complicate every round of the contest. Each episode is built from a new challenge, a new pairing and a fresh layer of pressure from the system behind it. The tone is breezy and witty, with warm romantic beats, undercurrents of conspiracy and a gentle queer thread that runs through the female-led cast. Set in a near-future Thailand that feels recognisable, the series is a compact, light, socially pointed watch, and fans of The Lobster, The Bachelor and Bad Buddy will find resonance in its blend of dating-game farce and tender romance.
