## Synopsis

Superstar (2025) is a Spanish limited series created by Nacho Vigalondo for Netflix, a six-episode miniseries of about fifty-four minutes per episode. It follows pop icon Tamara as she undergoes her metamorphosis into the stage persona Yurena, played by Ingrid García Jonsson, with Rocío Ibáñez as Margarita Seisdedos and Secun de la Rosa as Leonardo Dantés among the principal figures around her. Carlos Areces and Pepón Nieto add further weight to the entourage of managers, handlers and hangers-on who orbit the star. The engine of the story is the pull between the glittering persona a celebrity must keep performing and the self that quietly changes underneath it, with each episode built from backstage tensions, public appearances and the private costs of fame. Set in the chaotic Spanish pop scene of the early 2000s, the series mixes drama with a sharp comedic edge, giving the material a bright, glossy surface over a bittersweet undercurrent. Its satirical bite and reimagined biography recall the fictionalized music-star portraits of Walk the Line and Rocketman, while fans of the mockumentary-tinged celebrity comedy of Extras will find a similar wry eye on fame. The result is a compact, self-contained portrait of identity and reinvention in the glare of celebrity.
