## Synopsis

Fringe (2008-2013) is an American science fiction procedural series created by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and J.J. Abrams for FOX. FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) is drawn into a bureau unit that investigates bizarre, scientifically impossible events, and she needs the help of Walter Bishop (John Noble), a brilliant but formerly institutionalized scientist, and Walter's scheming, reluctant son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson). Their engine is a string of unexplained cases that each pull them deeper into a larger, more disturbing pattern. Most episodes follow a case-of-the-week shape, while a serialized mythology builds across five seasons and 100 episodes. Set in present-day America, the series blends fringe science with dread, wonder and eccentric family dynamics. Its tone is mysterious and inventive, with a strong sense of uncanny atmosphere. Fans of The X-Files, Doctor Who and Lost will find resonance in its mix of procedural investigation and cosmic mythology.
