## Synopsis

The Hunting Wives (2025- present) is an American Netflix drama series created by Rebecca Perry Cutter, a glossy mystery built around a wealthy clique of women. Brittany Snow plays Sophie O'Neill, a New England transplant who moves to East Texas and falls into the magnetic orbit of socialite Margo Banks, played by Malin Akerman. Jaime Ray Newman plays Callie Baskin, another member of the circle whose polished surface hides dangerous secrets, while Dermot Mulroney plays Jed Banks. Sophie's engine is simple and urgent: she wants to belong to this world, but every party, dinner and friendship carries a hidden cost, and each episode peels back another layer of the group's deceptions. The series runs as one continuing story across sixteen hour-long episodes in its first season, with the mystery steadily tightening. The tone is glossy, campy and gleefully amoral, with absurd escalating choices that a viewer watches with delighted discomfort. Its suburban-glam setting and sharp satire of privilege recall Big Little Lies for fans of prestige female ensemble drama, while the escalating scheming and camp pleasure echo Desperate Housewives. Adult viewers who enjoy soapy, twisty television will find this a sharp, sudsy guilty pleasure.
