## Synopsis

Running Point is an American streaming comedy series created for Netflix by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, David Stassen and Elaine Ko. Kate Hudson stars as Isla Gordon, a reformed party girl who is unexpectedly handed control of her family's professional basketball team. Drew Tarver and Brenda Song co-star as members of the Gordon circle, while Justin Theroux appears as a relative whose doubts and rivalries make every boardroom meeting and locker room standoff a test of her resolve. The engine of the show is Isla's effort to prove she can run a franchise, learning contracts, sponsorships, coaching disputes and player egos one crisis at a time while old habits and family politics pull against her. Episodes are largely self-contained comedic workplace stories set inside a modern American pro sports organization, spread across a two-season run. The tone is breezy and sharp, with cringe-tinged humor, glossy Los Angeles sheen and warm moments of sibling affection. Viewers who enjoy Ted Lasso, Succession and Brooklyn Nine-Nine will find resonance in its brisk banter, family power struggles and underdog leadership.
