## Synopsis

Blackshore (2024) is an Irish crime drama series created by Dathaí Keane and Kate O'Riordan for RTÉ One. Detective Inspector Fia Lucey (Lisa Dwan) returns to the town she grew up in and is drawn into a missing person case that reaches back into her own traumatic past. Working alongside characters played by Rory Keenan as Cian Furlong, Amy De Bhrún as Niamh Furlong and Aidan McArdle as Charlie Reid, she must untangle the local connections that the case exposes. The engine of the series is her uneasy effort to find the missing person while the town closes ranks around its own history. Each of the six fifty-two minute episodes moves the investigation forward through interviews, old grievances and quiet confrontations, building a single continuous mystery rather than a case of the week. Set in contemporary Ireland, the story carries a brooding, claustrophobic tone, with suspense that grows from what characters withhold as much as from what they reveal. Its theme of buried history and the cost of returning home places it alongside the moody small town mysteries of Broadchurch and Hinterland, and fans of The Killing will find its slow burn resonance. The series is a single season, six-episode limited arc that feels intimate and unsettling.
