## Synopsis

Hal & Harper (2025) is a American comedy-drama miniseries created by Cooper Raiff for MUBI. Cooper Raiff plays Hal and Lili Reinhart plays his sister Harper, two codependent siblings in present-day Los Angeles who cling to the childhood they share. Their engine is simple and painful: they want to keep the world small and safe between the two of them, but their single father, played by Mark Ruffalo, keeps pressing them to grow up far faster than they are ready to. Betty Gilpin appears as Kate, and the wider cast fills out the orbit of school friends, romance, and family obligations that pull the siblings in different directions. The story unfolds across a single eight-episode run, each half-hour chapter moving through everyday small crises and quiet confessions rather than a case of the week. The tone is wry, warm, and tender, with comedy arising from awkward moments and the ache of watching two people struggle to let go. Viewers who enjoy the sibling intimacy of Atypical, the wry family tenderness of Transparent, and the coming of age humor of Everything Sucks! will find much to savor in this small, sharply observed limited series.
