## Synopsis

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (2004-2009) is an American animated family comedy series created by Craig McCracken for Cartoon Network. Eight-year-old Mac (voiced by Sean Marquette) is a clever, shy boy who cannot bring himself to abandon his trouble-making imaginary friend Bloo (voiced by Keith Ferguson), so he smuggles him into Foster's, a rambling Victorian mansion where hundreds of outgrown imaginary friends live together. The engine of the show is simple and warm: Mac must keep Bloo's schemes from exposing the household while still visiting every day, and each episode follows a fresh mishap among the residents, from the bossy Madame Foster (voiced by Candi Milo) to the gentle, doubt-ridden Wilt (voiced by Phil LaMarr) and the rule-minded Mr. Herriman (voiced by Tom Kane). The episodes are self-contained, a bright sequence of gags, small adventures, and sweet beats about belonging. Its tone is whimsical, playful and cozy, with a surprising undercurrent of melancholy about being forgotten. Across six seasons, the series builds a loose continuity around its colorful cast. Fans of Adventure Time, The Powerpuff Girls and Gravity Falls will find the same mix of inventive worldbuilding and affectionate found-family humor.
