## Synopsis

Beauty in Black (2024-present) is an American serialized drama created by Tyler Perry and released on Netflix, a Tyler Perry Studios production that carries the glossy, melodramatic energy of a soap. The story follows Kimmie (Taylor Polidore), a stripper whose fate shifts when she crosses paths with the wealthy and dysfunctional family behind a cosmetics dynasty. Principal characters include Mallory (Crystle Stewart), Rain (Amber Reign Smith), Angel (Xavier Smalls), and Norman (Richard Lawson), whose family ties and private rivalries tangle with a devious trafficking scheme hidden beneath the brand's polished surface. Each episode advances the continuing story through scandal, betrayal, and shifting alliances, with the central engine being Kimmie's struggle to survive among people who would exploit her. The show spans three seasons and forty episodes, presented as one continuing narrative rather than standalone cases. Set in contemporary America, it unfolds among luxury homes, salons, and the nightlife world of exotic dancers. The tone is heated and sensational, foregrounding danger, moral compromise, and the glamour that masks cruelty. Fans of Dynasty and Empire will find resonance in its sudsy family intrigue and power-driven rivalries, while viewers drawn to Hustle may appreciate its frank look at sex work and exploitation.
