## Synopsis

The Dead Girls (2025) is a Mexican crime drama limited series created by Luis Estrada for Netflix, adapted from a novel. Set in 1960s Mexico, it follows the Baladro sisters, Arcangela (Arcelia Ramírez) and Serafina (Paulina Gaitán), who build a brothel empire and grow into merciless killers. Captain Bedoya (Joaquín Cosío) and Simón Corona (Alfonso Herrera) move through the wider world of the story, where corruption, local power, and hidden violence shape every choice the sisters make. Across six feature-length episodes of roughly seventy minutes each, the series is one continuing story rather than a case of the week, with each installment tightening the grip of a family enterprise that feeds on vulnerable women. Its register is grim and unflinching, a dark historical reckoning with atrocity, carried by tense, morally bleak drama. Fans of Narcos, El Chapo and Peaky Blinders will find resonance in its blend of true-crime history, regional criminal empires and sober, character-driven brutality.
