## Synopsis

Nyaight of the Living Cat (2025) is a Japanese animated survival comedy series created for TV Tokyo, adapted from a manga and produced with OLM and MAG Garden. Set in a present-day Japan overrun by a virus that transforms people into feral cats, the story follows Kunagi, a man with no past but an encyclopedic knowledge of cats, voiced by Masaaki Mizunaka. Alongside him are Kaoru, voiced by Reina Ueda, Tanishi, voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto, and Gaku, voiced by Ryota Takeuchi, a small band of survivors fighting to stay alive. The engine of the show is simple and absurd: Kunagi must avoid infection, and the virus spreads through cuddles, so every affectionate encounter becomes a threat. Each twelve-episode season is built from brisk, self-contained misadventures held together by one continuing thread of survival. The tone mixes deadpan apocalypse comedy with genre parody, sharp gags, and a bit of creeping horror. Fans of Zombieland, Gintama, and Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction will find resonance in its irreverent, genre-savvy take on the end of the world. It is a single season of twelve episodes, a short, breezy watch with a playful edge.
