## Synopsis

Testament: The Story of Moses (2024) is a US docudrama miniseries created for Netflix that blends dramatized reenactment with expert commentary. Avi Azulay plays Moses, tracing his path from a prince raised in the Egyptian court to a prophet who confronts Pharaoh, played by Mehmet Kurtuluş. Dominique Tipper plays his wife Zipporah, and Ishai Golan plays his brother Aaron, anchoring the human side of a story otherwise recounted through scholarly voices. Charles Dance narrates, while theologians and historians offer context on the figures, customs and ideas behind the scenes. The engine is the tension between personal ambition, family loyalty and a divine calling that asks Moses to abandon the comforts of palace life. The series runs three episodes of roughly eighty-seven minutes each, a single self-contained limited run rather than an ongoing serial. Its setting is ancient Egypt and the surrounding desert, rendered with reverent, contemplative restraint. Tone is sober and illuminating, with a documentary register that treats its sacred subject as history. Viewers who enjoy The Bible miniseries or documentary-style historical dramas will find resonance here.
