## Synopsis

Glass Heart is a Japanese romance drama series created by Kensaku Kakimoto and Kohtaro Goto for Netflix, a ten-episode single season adapted from a novel. Aspiring drummer Akane Saijo (Yu Miyazaki) is suddenly dropped from her band, and her life is upended when a gifted musician, Naoki Fujitani (Takeru Satoh), recruits her for his new group. The engine of the series is the tension between her hunger to prove herself as a musician and the pull of a volatile, intense creative partnership that blurs into romance. Episodes unfold around rehearsals, gigs, auditions and the friction of building a band from scratch in the contemporary Japanese music scene, with supporting turns from Keita Machida, Masaki Suda and Erika Karata among the band circle. The mood is earnest and emotionally charged, with a warm, yearning romantic current running beneath the ambition and setbacks of making music. Set in present-day Japan, the show plays out in a familiar milieu of live houses, practice studios and late-night recording sessions. Fans of Nodame Cantabile and Sing Street will find resonance in its blend of musical passion, youthful striving and romantic longing.
