## Synopsis

Falling Angel (2009-2010) is a Spanish-language telenovela created by David Posada and Jimena Romero for Telemundo, a single-season serial of 182 episodes running roughly 45 minutes each. Jencarlos Canela plays Ángel, a street-wise New Yorker who treats life as a game he intends to win, and Miguel Varoni plays Martín Acero, a power-hungry man engaged to Manuela, a stunning and feisty lawyer played by Gaby Espino. When Manuela decides to defend Ángel despite Martín's wish to destroy him, the romantic and legal entanglements tighten, and neither man knows the truth about their relationship. Karla Monroig and Jorge Luis Pila add further family and rivalry storylines around the central cast. Built on the classic melodrama engine of secret parentage, betrayal, and shifting loyalties, the series unfolds through long serialized arcs rather than standalone cases. Its mood is passionate, sentimental, and heightened, with emotional swings and romantic longing driving every episode. Fans of Pasión de Gavilanes, Dallas, and Rebelde will find familiar pleasures in its operatic rivalries, glamorous New York settings, and the hope that love can survive ambition.
