## Synopsis

The Bombing of Pan Am 103 (2025) is a British true-events limited series created by Jonathan Lee for BBC One. Set in 1988 Scotland, it follows Ed McCusker (Connor Swindells), a Lockerbie local whose life is upended when Pan Am Flight 103 explodes over the town, killing 270 people. Alongside him, Dick Marquise (Patrick J. Adams) and Harry Bell (Tony Curran) work the largest murder investigation in Scottish policing history, piecing together scattered wreckage and fragmentary evidence while battling institutional resistance and political pressure. Tom Thurman (Eddie Marsan) and Kathryn Turman (Merritt Wever) bring the American side of the hunt, and Moira Shearer (Phyllis Logan) and June McCusker (Lauren Lyle) anchor the human cost. Across six hour-long episodes, the story moves methodically from the shock of the explosion through the grinding search for answers. The tone is sober, grief-laden and procedural, with a quiet determination rather than melodrama. Fans of Chernobyl and United 93 will find resonance in its grounded, documentary-leaning account of a national tragedy.
