## Synopsis

Beyond the Gates (2025-present) is a US prestige soap opera created by Michele Val Jean for CBS. Clifton Davis plays Vernon Dupree, the patriarch of a powerful and prestigious family that reigns over a posh gated community in Maryland, while Daphnée Duplaix Samuel stars as Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson, with Karla Mosley as Dani Dupree, Tamara Tunie as Anita Dupree, and Colby Muhammad as Kat Richardson rounding out the principal family and community circle. The engine of the series is the constant pressure of keeping appearances intact while juicy secrets and scandals threaten to surface among neighbors who share fences, friendships, and rivalries. Each episode is built from overlapping storylines of ambition, loyalty, and romantic entanglement that spill from living rooms into boardrooms and social gatherings. Told as a long-running serialized soap, the show moves through an open-ended run of episodes across two seasons, with cliffhangers and recurring crises keeping viewers returning. The setting is a contemporary American suburb of Maryland, where wealth buys privacy but cannot buy peace. The tone is glossy, melodramatic, and emotionally heightened, with a steady undercurrent of intrigue and class tension. Fans of Dynasty, Empire, and The Haves and the Have Nots will find resonance in its blend of opulence, family rivalry, and the cost of a carefully curated image.
