## Synopsis

Forever (2025-present) is an American romantic drama series created by Mara Brock Akil for Netflix. Childhood friends Keisha Clark (Lovie Simone) and Justin Edwards (Michael Cooper Jr.) reunite as teenagers in Los Angeles and fall deeply in love, and the engine of the series is their first romance, with its intense joy and its heartache, as family expectations, friendships, and the pressures of school and sports pull at them. Keisha's sister Shelly (Xosha Roquemore) and Justin's family, including Eric Edwards (Wood Harris) and Dawn Edwards (Karen Pittman), add the domestic and generational stakes around the young couple. Each episode follows the everyday texture of high school life, its parties, practices, and private confessions, building emotional momentum across a single eight-episode season. The tone is warm and sincere, with a bittersweet undercurrent of longing and youthful vulnerability. Fans of Dawson's Creek and Grown-ish will find resonance in its focus on coming of age, Black American family life, and the way a first love can define a life.
