## Synopsis

Unlocked: A Jail Experiment (2024-present) is an American unscripted reality series created for Netflix. Set inside an Arkansas detention facility, the series follows a sheriff who launches a radical social experiment, granting the incarcerated men in his custody more day to day agency over their routines and conditions. Eric Higgins plays The Sheriff, the figure whose authority is tested as the experiment unfolds. The engine of each episode is the friction between the new freedoms and the rigid habits of a jail built for control: men negotiate responsibilities, clashes surface, and the facility staff must decide whether the experiment can hold. The show runs as a two-season, sixteen-episode reality series with forty-minute installments, and its second season continues the same experiment rather than resetting it. Its tone is candid and tense, with moments of unease and dry observation, and its themes center on dignity, accountability, and whether reform can work inside a punitive system. Fans of Big Brother, The Experiment and Survivor will recognize the mix of constructed rules, real people, and watching human behavior shift under pressure.
