## Synopsis

Black Rabbit (2025) is a British American crime drama miniseries created by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman for Netflix. Across eight hour-long episodes, Jason Bateman plays Vince Friedken, a rising-star restaurateur whose orderly life unravels when his chaotic brother Jake, played by Jude Law, returns to town with loan sharks on his trail. Vince is forced to step into New York's criminal underworld to protect the family he has tried to leave behind, and each episode tightens the grip of debt, favors and dangerous bargains. The engine of the story is a man who wants to keep his restaurant and his respectability intact while every step to save his brother pulls him deeper. Supporting roles include Troy Kotsur as Joe Mancuso, Abbey Lee as Anna and Odessa Young as Gen, adding pressure from the streets and the kitchen alike. Set in present day New York City, the series moves through restaurant dining rooms, bars and back alleys with a cynical, tense and morally grey atmosphere. Its mood is brooding and sharp, with dark humor cutting through the dread. Fans of Ozark, Better Call Saul and Bad Monkey will find resonance in its family-driven criminal entanglement and its unglamorous view of the underworld.
