## Synopsis

The Hijacking of Flight 601 (2024) is a Colombian true-events thriller miniseries created by C.S. Prince and Pablo González for Netflix. Across six episodes of roughly fifty-four minutes each, flight attendant Edilma 'Edie' Pérez (Monica Lopera) and her colleague María Eugenia 'Bárbara' Gallo (Ángela Cano) must find a way to outwit the armed men who have taken their aircraft. Their efforts run in step with intense negotiations on the ground, where officials and negotiators weigh every demand against the lives aboard. Comandante Richard Wilches (Christian Tappan) anchors the cockpit side of the crisis, and the hijackers, led by figures such as Francisco 'El Flaco' Marulanda (Carlos-Manuel Vesga), keep the pressure relentless. Each episode is built from the tight pressure of a single crisis, with the story moving steadily toward an outcome. The mood is tense, claustrophobic and grounded, with a sober emotional register that treats the passengers and crew with dignity. Viewers who enjoy Captain Phillips, United 93 and Chernobyl will find the same blend of true-events realism and procedural suspense.
