## Synopsis

Doctor Odyssey (2024-2025) is an American network medical drama created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken for ABC. Joshua Jackson plays Dr. Max Bankman, the new on-board doctor on a luxury cruise ship, working alongside Phillipa Soo as Avery Morgan and Sean Teale as Tristan Silva, with Don Johnson as Captain Robert Massey steering the vessel. The engine of the show is a small, overworked medical team that must treat passengers and crew facing unusual emergencies far from any hospital, while managing the friction and closeness that grow among colleagues confined together. Each episode is built around a self-contained medical case, and the single season of eighteen episodes gives the team's personal lives room to develop alongside the crises. Set aboard a modern ocean liner in the present day, the series leans on a glossy, sun-washed atmosphere and a breezy, escapist register, with a light sense of romance and camaraderie beneath the procedural framing. Viewers who enjoy ensemble hospital dramas and fans of The Good Doctor, Grey's Anatomy and The White Lotus will find a familiar pleasure in its sealed-off setting and its mix of medicine and holiday-style glamour, though the show was canceled after one season.
