## Synopsis

The First Frost (2025) is a Chinese web drama romance series created by Zhu Yi and released on Youku. Wen Yifan (Zhang Ruonan), a reporter, unexpectedly ends up living under the same roof as Sang Yan (Bai Jingting), a high school classmate she once turned down. The two keep careful distance from each other until she learns he sleepwalks, a detail that pulls their lives back together and forces them to face feelings they had buried. The thirty-two episode run follows their everyday routines in a contemporary urban setting, with supporting roles from Edward Chen as Su Haoan and Zhang Miaoyi as Zhong Siqiao filling out the circle of friends and colleagues around them. Each episode is built from small domestic moments, shared meals, awkward negotiations over space and routine, and quiet confessions that grow heavier over time. The tone is warm, wistful and tender, with a gentle comedic undercurrent and a steady ache of unspoken history. Fans of Meteor Garden, Crash Landing on You and Story of Kunning Palace will find a similar pleasure in slow burn longing and the sweetness of a second chance. It is a single season, self-contained romance that rewards viewers looking for emotional warmth rather than spectacle.
