## Synopsis

Men in Trees (2006-2008) is an American romantic comedy drama series created by Jenny Bicks for ABC. Anne Heche plays Marin Frist, a bestselling relationship coach whose own engagement collapses when she learns her fiance has cheated on her. On her way to a speaking engagement in Alaska, a snowstorm strands her in a small town full of single men, and she is forced to apply her own advice to her messy love life. Emily Bergl plays Annie O'Donnell, a fellow outsider and friend who helps Marin navigate the town, while James Tupper plays Jack Slattery, one of the eligible men pulling at her attention. The engine of the show is simple: Marin wants to rebuild her confidence and find genuine love, but every new romance tangles with her public image and the gossip of a close knit community. Each episode is built from dates, rivalries, and small town social friction across two seasons and thirty-six episodes. The tone is breezy and warm, with wistful moments, and it plays like a lighter cousin of Northern Exposure, with the frosty Alaskan setting providing a cozy backdrop. Fans of Sex and the City and Northern Exposure will find resonance in its mix of romance, humor, and character driven small town life.
