## Synopsis

The Pitt is an American medical drama created by R. Scott Gemmill for Max and HBO Max. Noah Wyle plays Dr. Michael Robby Robinavitch, a veteran physician at Pittsburgh's Trauma Medical Center, alongside Katherine LaNasa as charge nurse Dana Evans, Tracy Ifeachor as Dr. Heather Collins, and Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon. The engine of the series is the relentless grind of a crowded, underfunded emergency department, where every patient is a race against time and every decision carries weight. Each season tracks a single long shift, so the drama unfolds in close to real time, with clinical cases piling up and staff pushed to their limits. The tone is tense, urgent and emotionally raw, with a grounded sense of humanity and frank depictions of medicine under strain. Fans of ER and St. Elsewhere will find resonance in its ensemble of overworked caregivers and its commitment to clinical credibility. The show offers a gripping, immersive look at contemporary emergency medicine, balancing relentless clinical pressure with the personal costs borne by those who keep the department running.
