## Synopsis

The Beast in Me (2025) is a American psychological thriller series created by Gabe Rotter for Netflix. Claire Danes plays Agatha Aggie Wiggs, a famous author struggling with writer's block and grief, who is pulled into a twisted mind game with her rich, powerful new neighbor Nile Jarvis, played by Matthew Rhys, who may be a murderer. Brittany Snow plays Nina Jarvis, and Natalie Morales plays Shelley Morris, both of whom shape the unease that grows around the couple's domestic world. Aggie's engine is her need to know what her neighbor is hiding while the boundaries between watcher and watched keep shifting, and each episode tightens a spiral of suspicion, obsession and paranoia across a single eight-episode season set in a contemporary American milieu. The tone is tense and claustrophobic, with a cozy menace that makes violence feel uncomfortably calm. Its atmosphere recalls the voyeuristic unease of Rear Window and the moral murk of Gone Girl and Big Little Lies, and fans of those psychological thrillers will find resonance here. The series runs as a single season and is still listed as a returning series on Netflix.
