## Synopsis

As Told by Ginger (2000-2006) is an American animated comedy created by Emily Kapnek, Kate Boutilier and Eryk Casemiro for Nickelodeon. Middle schooler Ginger Foutley (voiced by Melissa Disney) is the protagonist, a sharp, self-observing girl who wants to escape the label of social geek and be taken seriously by her classmates. Her best friend Dodie Bishop (voiced by Aspen Miller) and rival Courtney Gripling (voiced by Liz Georges) pull her in different directions, while her parents Carl (voiced by Jeannie Elias) and Lois Foutley (voiced by Laraine Newman) provide the family backdrop at home. Each episode is built from small, concrete school pressures: crushes, cliques, class projects, and the awkward collisions of friendship. Ginger's inner voiceover frames the action and gives the show its intimate, confessional texture. Across three seasons and 44 episodes of 24 minutes each, the tone stays earnest, sincere and warm rather than cynical. Fans of Doug, Rugrats and The Weekenders will find the same gentle, relatable register of preteen life, with a clear-eyed look at the anxieties of growing up.
