## Synopsis

Maxton Hall - The World Between Us (2024-present) is a German teen romance drama series created for Prime Video, adapted from Mona Kasten's novel about class and desire. When scholarship student Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten) unwittingly witnesses an explosive secret at the prestigious Maxton Hall private school, she collides with the arrogant millionaire heir James Beaufort (Damian Hardung), who is determined to silence her. Their barbed, passionate exchanges of words quickly turn into a spark neither wants to acknowledge. Lydia Beaufort (Sonja Weißer) and Mortimer Beaufort (Fedja van Huêt) anchor the wealthy family whose reputation hangs in the balance, while the school's rigid hierarchy pushes Ruby to defend her place among students who were born with everything. The engine is simple and emotionally charged: a girl who has nothing to lose, a boy who has everything to protect, and a secret that keeps pulling them together. Episodes unfold as a continuing story across two seasons of thirteen episodes, with each season tightening the emotional stakes. The contemporary setting is an elite English-style boarding school rendered in a polished, moody palette. The tone is sparkling yet sincere, with a wistful undercurrent. Fans of Gossip Girl, Elite and Bridgerton will find resonance in its glossy class tension and slow-burn romance.
