## Synopsis

House of Guinness (2025) is a British period drama series created by Steven Knight for Netflix. Set in 1868 Dublin, the story follows the four adult children of the Guinness brewing dynasty, including Arthur Guinness (Anthony Boyle) and Edward Guinness (Louis Partridge), who must decide the future of the family brewery after their father's death. Each sibling hides dark secrets that threaten to unravel the family's hold on the business. Anne Guinness (Emily Fairn) and Benjamin Guinness (Fionn O'Shea) add further pressure, while James Norton plays Sean Rafferty, a figure whose ambitions collide with the family's. The engine of the series is a constant tug of war between loyalty, ambition and concealed desire, played out across boardroom schemes, tense family confrontations and the rough politics of Victorian Dublin's streets. Eight episodes of roughly fifty-three minutes make up this single-season run, which plays as a serialized story with each episode tightening the central power struggle. The mood is glossy and brooding, with lush costuming and sumptuous filming that give it a stylish, confident register. Fans of Peaky Blinders and The Knick will find resonance in its period swagger and family intrigue, and viewers who enjoy polished historical drama with a sharp edge will find much to savour here.
