## Synopsis

The Man with Two Thousand Faces (2009) is an Iranian comedy series created by Mehran Modiri for IRIB TV3. Mehran Modiri stars as Massoud Shastchi, an impersonator facing charges for his deceptions, who looks back over his crimes as the story unfolds. Alongside him, a supporting ensemble including Siamak Ansari, Borzoo Arjmand, Ali Lak Poorian, Bijan Banafshekhah and Sahar Jafari Jozani populates the episodes. The engine of the series is the comic gap between the protagonist's shape-shifting disguises and the institutions he slips through, with each episode turning a different corner of contemporary Iranian society into a target for satire. Its thirteen episodes form a single season told in a retrospective frame, so the comedy moves from one sector of life to the next while the confession keeps its through-line. The tone is breezy and sardonic, with a playful irreverence that treats authority and bureaucracy as fair game. Fans of Mr. Bean for its physical mischief, Little Britain for its character-driven sketch sharpness, and The Day Today for its deadpan institutional mockery will find a kindred spirit in this sharp, self-aware satire.
