## Synopsis

Vecinos (2005-present) is a Mexican television sitcom created by Eugenio Derbez and produced by Televisa, with episodes airing across Distrito Comedia, Blim and Las Estrellas. Set in an ordinary Mexican neighborhood where the everyday life of its residents is the engine, the series follows a rotating crowd of peculiar neighbors, among them German Valdez (Eduardo España), Frankie Rivers (César Bono), Silvia Olvera de San Román (Mayrín Villanueva) and Don Roque Balboa (Polo Ortín). Each episode builds from a small collision between real and fictitious problems, so the comedy comes from characters crossing paths on the same streets, sharing walls and misreading one another. The series runs across twenty-one seasons and several hundred episodes, a long-running sitcom rather than a continuing serialized saga, with standalone stories that let viewers drop in at any point. Its tone is warm, breezy and affectionate, with a broad, familiar family-comedy register. Fans of El Chavo del Ocho, Los Roldán and Modern Family will find similar pleasures in its neighborly ensemble humor and domestic everyday mishaps.
