## Synopsis

Bergerac (2025-2026) is a British crime drama series created by Toby Whithouse and broadcast on U&Drama, a reboot of the classic detective format. Damien Molony stars as ex-cop Jim Bergerac, a former officer who is forced to confront a troubling past case when a wealthy woman is murdered. Robert Gilbert plays Barney Crozier, and Sasha Behar plays Uma Dalal, with Chloé Sweetlove as Kim Bergerac and Pippa Haywood as Margaret Heaton rounding out the principal cast. The engine of the series is Bergerac's struggle to overcome his own personal demons and sharpen his investigative instincts while his family tensions and renewed law enforcement scrutiny press in around him. Each season follows a murder investigation across six episodes, with the case unfolding in parallel with the protagonist's private unraveling. The show is set in Jersey, a Channel Island community where wealth, secrets and small-island familiarity colour every suspect interview. Its tone is brooding and tense, with a sombre, character-driven atmosphere and a steady emotional undertow. Fans of the original Bergerac, Vera and Shetland will find a familiar kinship in its weathered detective, its island setting and its moody British crime sensibility.
