## Synopsis

The Resurrected (2025) is a Taiwanese crime thriller limited series created by Leste Chen and Hsu Chao-jen and released on Netflix. Two grieving mothers, Wang Hui-chun (Shu Qi) and Chao Ching (Angelica Lee), resurrect a scam ringleader in hopes of avenging their daughters. Their engine is a revenge scheme that pulls them deeper into the criminal underworld, where each step forward exposes a new layer of complicity and cruelty. Across nine hour-long episodes, the story alternates between schemes, interrogations and buried family secrets, with Fu Meng-po as Chang Shih-kai and Chung Hsin-ling as Chang Chia-feng among the principal figures tied to the crimes. The series is a single, continuing story told in one season, so its plotting rewards close attention and keeps the mysteries layered. Its tone is dark, grim and morally corrosive, with a focus on how ordinary people do terrible things to one another. The contemporary Taiwanese setting gives the organised crime a grounded, urban texture. Viewers who enjoy the grief-fuelled vengeance of Big Little Lies, the morally compromised crime web of Ozark, or the bleak thriller mood of The Killer will find resonance here. Expect a harrowing, demanding watch whose sense of justice grows harder to hold onto with every episode.
