## Synopsis

El extraño retorno de Diana Salazar (2024-2025) is a Spanish-language telenovela-style supernatural romance series created by Carlos Algara for ViX. Angelique Boyer plays Diana Salazar and her past-life counterpart Leonor de Santiago, while Sebastián Rulli plays Eduardo de Carvajal and his modern self Mario Villareal. The engine of the story is a love that was violently ended in seventeenth-century Spain, when Leonor is executed for witchcraft, and that now returns in the present day through the reincarnated souls of Diana and Mario. Their greatest obstacle is the fear of being discovered for their true selves, so every episode carries the tension of secrets almost revealed and identities nearly exposed. Arap Bethke, Cassandra Sánchez Navarro and Sergio Reynoso add rival and family pressures to the romance. The show runs three seasons of eight episodes each, forming a serialized story with a steady supernatural mystery thread. Its tone blends melodramatic longing, dread and period-tinged gothic atmosphere, with the Inquisition-era past bleeding into modern life. Fans of Dark, Outlander and Pasión de Gavilanes will find resonance in its reincarnation romance and emotional intensity.
