## Synopsis

Leanne (2025-present) is a American streaming family sitcom created by Chuck Lorre, Leanne Morgan and Susan McMartin for Netflix. Stand-up comedian Leanne Morgan plays a resilient Southern mom whose husband walks out on her for another woman, forcing her to rebuild her life in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her engine is simple and funny: she wants a fresh start and a little dignity, while her overbearing family keeps getting in the way. Kristen Johnston plays her sharp-tongued sister Carol, Celia Weston plays Mama Margaret, and Blake Clark plays Daddy John, each bringing blunt, loving commentary to the family dinner table and the church pew. Episodes are self-contained domestic comedies built around household skirmishes, adult children, grandchildren and faith-tinged small-town routines. The show runs for two seasons with twenty-six episodes of roughly twenty-one minutes each, and it is a warm, breezy, sincere sitcom with plenty of cringe-free laughs. Its tone is comforting and sardonic, with a Southern rhythm that echoes Mom and Designing Women. Fans of family-driven sitcoms with a divorced heroine will find this one easy to settle into.
