## Synopsis

Art Attack (1990-present) is a British children's art series first broadcast on ITV1 and later carried by CITV, Disney Junior and SAB TV. Presented throughout its original run by Neil Buchanan, who also created the show, it is a bright, friendly, hands-on programme in which the host builds artworks from everyday materials while talking directly to young viewers. The engine of each episode is simple: an idea is set, a household object becomes a sculpture, collage or painting, and the host walks the audience through each stage so that a child at home can follow along with scissors, paper and paint. Across twenty seasons and roughly 275 episodes, the format stays an anthology of self-contained short segments rather than a continuing story, so episodes can be watched in any order. Later revivals passed the presenting job to Jassa Ahluwalia and then Lloyd Warbey, with the same voice-over and step-by-step approach. The tone is cheerful, encouraging and warm, with a sense of playful improvisation and a gentle nostalgia for many viewers who grew up with it. Fans of Blue Peter, The Crafty Crafts Show and Bob the Builder will find the same mix of practical making, approachable hosting and wholesome family fun.
