## Synopsis

The Better Sister (2025) is an American limited miniseries created by Olivia Milch for Prime Video, adapted from a novel. Jessica Biel plays Chloe, who moves through New York's most elite circles with her lawyer husband Adam, played by Corey Stoll, and their teenage son Ethan, played by Maxwell Acee Donovan. Her estranged sister Nicky, played by Elizabeth Banks, is trying to make ends meet and stay clean far from that world. The engine of the series is the investigation that follows when Adam is brutally murdered: detectives and family members begin probing the household, and each conversation peels back another layer of the family's history. Kim Dickens appears as Nancy Guidry, adding to the investigative pressure. Told across eight hour-long episodes, the series moves as one continuous story in which each revelation reshapes how the sisters see each other. The tone is tense and emotionally raw, a glossy Manhattan setting cut against grit and addiction. Its atmosphere recalls prestige domestic thrillers, and fans of Big Little Lies, The Undoing and Sharp Objects will find resonance in its polished surfaces, fractured loyalties and sisterly bond.
