## Synopsis

The Eastern Gate (2025-present) is a Polish espionage thriller series created for TVN and distributed on Max and HBO Max. Agent Ewa Oginiec (Lena Góra) wants to leave the secret service after a personal tragedy and start over, but her partner, fellow agent Zbigniew Lange (Andrzej Konopka), is exposed by Russian intelligence and mysteriously disappears, pulling her back into the field. Her search runs across the tense Russian and Belarusian border country, through Minsk and embassy corridors where every contact may be a trap. Principal players including Krzysztof Hałaj (Bartłomiej Topa), Helena Jankulowska (Ewelina Starejki) and Tamara Sorokina (Alona Szostak) shape the web of loyalties, betrayals and hostile services around her. The show is a serialized run of roughly fifty-minute episodes, with one continuing storyline that unfolds across a short two-season run so far. Its tone is taut, paranoid and grounded, favoring suspense, moral exhaustion and the cost of secrecy over flashy action. Viewers who enjoy the tense espionage of The Americans and the post soviet intrigue of Occupied will find similar resonance here, in a story where survival depends on knowing whom to trust.
