## Synopsis

Sheriff Country (2025-present) is an American small-town crime drama created by Matt Lopez for CBS. Morena Baccarin plays Mickey Fox, a sheriff patrolling the streets of Edgewater who must keep order while contending with her ex-con father Wes Fox (W. Earl Brown) living close by. Matt Lauria plays Nathan Boone, a fellow lawman whose loyalties are tested as local crimes pile up. Her engine is simple and personal: she wants to protect the town she governs, but the criminal activity around her keeps reaching into her own home. Each season moves through a steady run of local investigations, arrests, and confrontations in a close community where everyone knows everyone. The show has a current two-season run with twenty-six episodes so far, and it plays as a serialized crime saga rather than a case-of-the-week format, so a mysterious incident involving Mickey's wayward daughter keeps threads alive across episodes. The tone is gritty and character-driven, with a sense of quiet dread and family strain. Fans of Longmire, Justified and Blue Bloods will find resonance in its rural law enforcement, its layered loyalties, and its portrait of a lawwoman who cannot leave her family's history behind.
