## Synopsis

The Langoliers (1995) is an American two-part miniseries created by Stephen King for ABC, adapted from his novel. Patricia Wettig plays Laurel Stevenson, a passenger who wakes with a handful of others on a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to Boston to discover that everyone else has disappeared. Dean Stockwell plays Bob Jenkins, a fellow passenger, while David Morse appears as Captain Brian Engle, whose flight has become an isolated, unsettling puzzle. The engine of the story is a race to understand the empty world and to reach safety before something strange overtakes them. Each episode builds dread through eerie isolation, a deserted landscape, and the growing suspicion that time itself is being consumed behind them. The tone is uncanny and tense, with a paranormal mystery at its core and a restless sense of reality slipping away. Viewers who enjoy the mystery of The Twilight Zone, the stranded survivors of Lost, or the creeping unease of The Mist will find resonance here. Its single season spans two episodes, making it a compact, self-contained watch.
